GUITAR ALLEY |
|
The RECORD SANTERS - Guitar Alley This scrappy Toronto guitar-based metal trio turns in a much stronger effort on this fourth outing. The advance single, a cover of Free's All Right Now was the top AOR add last issue, and the rest of the record is every bit as hot. Can't Shake You is nothing short of an AM smash, and it can also work in the United States as well. Dreaming is a powerful ballad, and Loa is a Judas Priest-like scorcher. No small part of the credit for this tour de force (and we underline force) goes to Triumph's Rik Emmett, who produced. The inner sleeve advertises Ready's total catalogue, including the band's three previous records, and there's a foldout poster of Santers, with lyrics. It all adds up to a more-than-promising release from a rapidly improving band. **** From my own ears dep't. can't say enough about the surprise on the Santers album. A major progression for the band and light years ahead of the last release. David Farrell
